How The Mighty Tankholder Came to Be:

I invented The Mighty Tankholder because I spent way too much time cleaning up hydraulic fluid, ruined too many pairs of pants, and emptied too many buckets into the waste oil bin.  I found the supposed secret of hydraulic technicians to attached a shop vacuum to the reservoir had another secret- it really didn't work all that well.  The concept was good- vacuum pressure in the air space above the reservoir provides an upward force on the surface of the fluid, counteracting the force of gravity.  But the results were inconsistent.  Even worse, I was pretty sure the particles that were rattling around the shop vacuum hose would fall into the reservoir, contaminating the hydraulic system.  All this frustration lead to lots of thinking about how to make a better way.  The Mighty Tankholder is the result, and it is a small, handheld tool design for the job.  This tool changed the way I worked on hydraulic systems.  I used it more often because it was so convenient and easy to use.  I didn't need to have someone hold the shop vacuum hose in the reservoir to make sure it didn't fall out.  I even found that I could use it during routine return filter changes to minimize the oil spillage.  Every time I used it, I thought, "somebody should really make a tool like this"... then I finally realized I was "somebody".
